PowerStic and Exodus Best Testing Practices

Wall Plugged Testing

    • 1. Use a cyclical data stimulus for the system under test  i.e. some program or routine that produces constant and the same data processing for the PowerStic/Exodus Inserted/Extracted tests.
    • 2. As much as is possible, turn off all system interrupts
    • 3.  Keep all screen saver routines in infinite or constant mode
    • 4. Turn off the internet
    • 5. Test with the system at a constant, controlled temperature
    • 6. Use a data logging meter, such as the Onset UX120-018 Hobo plug load logger to record the PowerStic/Exodus Inserted/Extracted tests.
    • 7. Using the chosen cyclical data stimulus, run the system for a controlled period of time with the PowerStic/Exodus devices extracted.   Record or plot the gathered data
    • 8. Using the chosen cyclical data stimulus, run the system for a controlled period of time with the PowerStic/Exodus devices Inserted.   Record or plot the gathered data
    • 9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 multiple times(3 to 5 times) and average
    • 10. Compare the Extracted/Inserted test results from step 9

Un-Plugged, Battery Life Testing

    • 4. Turn off the internet francepharmacie.fr
    • 5. Test with the system at a constant, controlled temperature
    • 6. Charge the portable, unplugged device to full charge
    • 7. Allow the portable, unplugged device to run with the PowerStic/Exodus device extracted until the battery is discharged to device shut down
    • 8. Record this discharge time with a Cellphone timer
    • 9. Re-charge the portable, unplugged device to full charge.
    • 10. Allow the portable, unplugged device to run with the PowerStic/Exodus device inserted until the battery is discharged to device shut down
    • 11. Record this discharge time with a Cellphone timer.
    • 12. Repeat steps 6 through 11 multiple times(3 to 5 times) and average
    • 13. Compare the Extracted/Inserted test results from step 12
